A community for systemic change
Our story is a collective journey of weavers across the globe coming together for the shared purpose of advancing the field of weaving.
The Weaving Lab was launched in 2018 and our community has since grown to 300+ members from around the world. We are community builders, network conveners, social innovators and change-makers who want to experiment and learn how to become better weavers.
A community for systemic change
Our story is a collective journey of many aligned individuals across the globe coming together for a shared purpose. The Weaving Lab was conceived by many in 2015 and officially launched in 2018.
Our community has since grown to 300 members and everyone gets a chance to learn and contribute with head, heart and hands. We truly support each other and generously share learnings, resources and opportunities. So that together, we advance the practice of weaving for universal wellbeing.

Our Principles
We join this community as our authentic selves, and commit to stepping out of our institutional selves in order to build personal relationships and collaborate with openness, honesty, and transparency. In so doing, we fully respect – but are not unduly constrained by – the views and interests of our employers, and can remain in the community on moving from one employer to another.
We recognize with humility that we are one person within a much larger, interconnected world that needs us human beings to co-create a more sustainable, peaceful, and equitable future. We are grounded in our shared sense of purpose and optimism that a better world can be achieved, and make decisions with the intent to create the best outcome for all and not only ourselves or select others.
We believe in every person’s potential to live for the greater good, and assume without judgement that every team member aims to act with integrity and alignment with our shared vision and mission. We are here to help each other succeed and empower each other to become our best selves.
We seek to practice and inspire collaboration more than competition. We are open to connect and explore through dialogue the possibilities of co-creation towards the greater good with any individual or group of individuals regardless of their cultural or religious background, race, gender, age, sexuality, political beliefs, or field of work. We know that the sharing of learnings, resources, and skills is necessary to achieve (eco)systemic change.
We respond to problems and conflicts with solutions that are practical, creative, and inclusive of diverse voices in our community. We act with urgency and momentum towards our common goals, while maintaining dynamic teams and structures that are agile and fluid in nature. We share openly the meaningful and measurable outcomes of our work.
We are conscious and transparent about who is – and who is not – represented in our community. We each take responsibility to ensure we are a diverse community that includes the many cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives of our world, and address inequities with courage and effective action. We invest in our personal development of cultural competency and self-awareness of biases and prejudices.
We acknowledge that we are each on a unique, lifelong journey of discovery and continuous improvement. We courageously explore beyond our comfort zones in order to grow and learn new ways of being and working. We seek feedback and wisdom from diverse perspectives with curiosity, and we make time for deep listening and self-reflection.
We act with love and respect for one another and nature, and carefully listen to understand each other’s thoughts and feelings. We believe and defend the dignity of all people, and treat every being with kindness and generosity. In doing so, we respect the boundaries of others and meet people where they are in their journey.
We take the time to appreciate one another. We see that everyone’s presence, competencies, ideas, and actions as gifts that must be honored and never taken for granted.
We take time for play and having fun. We recognize our personal wellbeing and joy as essential to being an effective change leader, and that making change in the world begins with making change within.
