Systemic Constellations for Social Change

With Luea Ritter, 2 May 2024

Summary

This Sessin looked at “Systems Constellations” as a mechanism for tracking relational patterns and guiding societal transitions. The lineage of the practice is cross-disciplinary, evolving from roots including western psychotherapy and indigenous relational traditions of the Zulu nation.

Shifting away from isolated, intellectual problem-solving, participants did a “system sensing” inquiry (physical alignment exercise), to tap somatic bodily intelligence about hidden imbalances, unacknowledged historic trauma, and blockages swept under institutional carpets. Authentic emotional fields and clear telepathic proximity across long-distance virtual divides emerged.

Key Learning Points

  • The Interdependent Field: Existential challenges, structural friction, and environmental illnesses signify that a system has drifted out of alignment, rather than pointing to isolated individual faults.
  • The Lineage Intersection: Systems constellation work synthesizes mid-century western family psychotherapy with traditional first-nations practices focused on multi-generational tracking.
  • The Cost of Exclusion: Anything hidden, unacknowledged, or suppressed within an organizational lineage will inevitably surface as a disruptive, erratic systemic sign.
  • The Shadow Relaxation Effect: Bringing systemic imbalances or historical data into the light creates immediate, felt relaxation inside a community’s social fabric.
  • The Myth of Cognitive Dominance: The somatic human body registers, processes, and stores environmental and generational insights far more accurately than logical, cognitive frameworks.
  • The Inquiry Radio Frequency: Constellation diagnostics rely strictly on clear, context-specific questions; a crisp baseline prompt acts like a sharp radio frequency signal.
  • The Virtual Muscle Expansion: Utilizing physical constellation mapping across digital platforms allows practitioners to actively stretch telepathic muscles across global distances.

Action Points

  • Acknowledge Rather Than Isolate: When systemic friction occurs, reject the western urge to compartmentalize blame; convene the entire collective to listen to the disturbance.
  • Map via Five-Element Sensing: Use physical movements to step into five core system nodes: Myself, The Situation, The Source of the Irritation/Challenge, The Hidden/Forgotten Element, and The Source of Inspiration/Energy.
  • Establish a Neutral Dojo Boundary: Before launching an organizational review, establish an explicitly grounded physical “neutral zone” to act as an un-biased anchoring space.
  • Deploy Somatic Intensity Dimmers: Train facilitators and field participants to use an imaginary “volume button” to scale down the physical intensity of intense emotional breakthroughs.
  • Utilize Earth Grounding Discharges: Conclude somatic breakout sessions by envisioning all residual energy or residual worries flowing like a lightning rod safely back into the ground.
  • Look with Graceful, Gentle Eyes: Approach structural team bottlenecks with clear curiosity, explicitly asking the situation: “What do you want to tell me right now?”.
  • Track Intergenerational Carrying Patterns: Actively look for habits where team members accidentally carry emotional burdens out of blind loyalty for other people’s problems.
